Online Presence has increasingly become the venue to spread awareness and make more money. Now, even philanthropic efforts are benefiting from online tools such as Kickstarter.
The crowdfund platform, to date, has raised over $1 million dollars for the 5,000 Syrian refugees. This amount was raised from Tuesday to Wednesday, and the campaign is said to last for a week.
The money raised will be used to provide necessities, and is done by the United Nations. The President of the United States Barack Obama endorsed the use of the platform, which shows how crucial such tools are in our digital age. Kickstarter since its beginning has changed its policy to address the funding needs of non profits and creative projects.
